Marcello’s Hair Secrets has been a cornerstone of the community for over 42 years, a testament to its dedication to excellence and its deep roots in family tradition. Founded by Marcello, an Italian immigrant from Calabria, the salon reflects his journey of hard work and passion. Marcello arrived in the United States in 1966 and grew up in the Bronx, where he honed his skills on Allerton Avenue. Inspired by his visits to local salons, he realized, “This is what I want to do.”
Philosophy •
If my hair looks good, I can deal with anything.
In the early days, Marcello seized the opportunity to open his own salon in a brand-new strip mall. At the time, his was the first and only store in what was then an undeveloped area. Today, the once-quiet shopping center has transformed into a thriving commercial hub, and Marcello’s Hair Secrets remains a cherished institution, celebrated for its longevity, warm family atmosphere, and unwavering commitment to its clients.

With over four decades of experience, Marcello is the heart and soul behind Marcello’s Hair Secrets. An immigrant from Calabria, Italy, Marcello came to the United States in 1966 and grew up in the Bronx. It was there, on Allerton Avenue, that he discovered his passion for hairstyling, inspired by visits to local salons. Driven by his dream, he turned his vision into reality, creating a salon that has become a beloved community fixture.
Now a proud father of three and grandfather of two, Marcello has called Westchester County home for the past 20 years. Family is at the core of his life, both at home and in the salon. One of his greatest joys is working alongside his youngest daughter, who serves as the salon’s head receptionist, helping ensure every client feels like part of the family.
Marcello’s artistry, warm personality, and dedication to his craft have earned him the trust and loyalty of clients for generations. He continues to inspire with his commitment to creating timeless styles and a welcoming atmosphere for all.
